[Kraft's] choreography was nothing short of exceptional, infusing the stage with an electrifying energy that bore testimony to the actors' relentless efforts in perfecting intricate dance routines.

I don't know if it's luck or kismet that frequent Lyric Arts choreographer Lauri Kraft was a swing in a tour of A Chorus Line and worked with original cast member Baayork Lee, director/choreographer of that tour. But she brings all of that history and experience to bear in this show. All of the iconic choreography that we know, love, and expect are there, adapted to this smaller space and incredible ensemble.

Great choice by Shanan [Custer] and choreographer Lauri Kraft, as well as the cast, to keep the story and characters flowing wordlessly between scenes. All of the dancing is really fun, perhaps less intricate and exact than Lauri's award-worthy choreography in A Chorus Line that opened this season, but just as impressive.

The iconic tap dance to the title song is a thrill, and choreographer Lauri Kraft keeps the movement going even through scene changes. In the post-show discussion, she said that the scene changes were inspired by the recent Broadway tour of An American in Paris, and that influence shows. Actors in costume move the scenery between scenes, and often do a little dance or character bit while doing so.

But there is enough space for some terrific dance numbers choreographed by Lauri Kraft; it may be only 8 people dancing instead of 18, but you still get the full effect and it never feels crowded.

Choreographer Lauri Kraft has created some fun, athletic, and clever dances for the cast, including an Irish step dance routine, which I don't think I've ever seen before in a musical... it works beautifully and hilariously...
